Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Contact information, such as your name and email address.
- Order and transaction information. Payment-card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by us.
- Information you voluntarily provide for a custom story, experience, celebration, event, or other offering, including preferences, participants, timing, accessibility needs, restrictions, and story details.
- Messages, customer-support requests, submitted forms, and requested corrections.
- Basic technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the website.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries, process purchases, create and deliver requested products or experiences, provide support, prevent misuse, maintain records, improve service quality, and comply with legal obligations.
Submitting a form or making a purchase does not automatically enroll you in marketing. We send promotional email only when you separately choose to receive it, and you may unsubscribe at any time.
Analytics and cookies
With your permission, The Story Emporium uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors move through the Blue Door, Curiosity Library, Village, Story Orb, destination pages, and meaningful inquiry or purchase steps. This helps us identify technical problems, confusing transitions, and the parts of the experience visitors find most engaging.
Google Analytics may use first-party cookies and collect information such as pages visited, approximate location derived from an internet connection, device and browser type, traffic source, engagement time, and interactions we have specifically chosen to measure. We do not send names, email addresses, story submissions, payment-card details, or the written contents of inquiry forms to Google Analytics.
Analytics is not loaded unless you choose “Allow analytics.” We do not enable advertising tracking through this site. You may continue without analytics or change your choice at any time.
When information is shared
We do not sell personal information or share it for third-party advertising. We may provide the minimum necessary information to trusted service providers that help us host the site, process payments, store records, deliver communications or products, provide support, or maintain security. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect people, rights, and systems.
How long we keep it
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed to deliver and support an offering, maintain continuity for custom work, satisfy accounting or legal requirements, prevent fraud, or resolve a transaction or dispute. You may request earlier deletion when no legal or operational obligation requires us to keep it. We may retain non-identifying information for quality improvement when it cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with The Story Emporium by emailing hello@storyemporiumstudio.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some records may be retained when required by law or needed to resolve a transaction or dispute.
Security and children
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so please do not submit information that is unnecessary for your request.
Some Story Emporium offerings are created for children and families, but purchases and forms requesting personal information are intended to be completed by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through those forms.
